What is a Rookie
 
 
 
Rookie tournaments are designed for and specifically limited to new players, recreational players and players with few, if any, standing points under the Florida points system.
 
Maximum matches per day: 4
 
Match play: 8 game pro set with the set tiebreak at 8 games all.
                 First match consolation (minimum), round robin or compass draw.

 

*NEW! Starting in 2011, all junior Rookie Tournaments in Florida in the 10 & under category will be played using the QuickStart Tennis format of play.

 
 
 
 
Who can play Rookies
 
 
 
 
Rookie tournaments are open to all Florida residents who are not academy players or players with advanced skills. Any player ranking in ANY DIVISION in the top 200 of the Standings List in the Boys' or Girls' 10s or top 400 in the Boys' or Girls' 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s CANNOT play a Rookie.
